Improved Energy Efficiency
With higher energy-efficiency comes lower energy costs. In fact, the U.S. Department of Energy reports that building managers could save 20% – 30% on energy bills by implementing energy-efficient improvements. VersaCore+Green™ wall systems help you save energy and money by delivering R-Values that are three points higher than other precast wall panels. The new VersaCore+Green™ production process allows structural design requests including recessed connections and the ability to cast-in door and window openings. Accommodating design requests in the initial stage of panel creation versus on the job site saves time in the construction process, helps contractors control costs, and provides architects and engineers with a flexible range of design options and tools.
In late 2006, an outside testing company conducted load tests on 8-inch VersaCore+Green™.
- Flex Test. The panel deflection at design flexure load was small (3/16″) and no cracks formed. The flexural load capacity well exceeds its maximum design load, exhibiting no sign of failure until nearly 7 times the design load.
- Shear Test. The panel was strong in shear, bearing up to a load of 18,450 pounds.
- Cycle Testing. The panel performed well under cyclic flexural loading, withstanding 10,000 cycles of load without deterioration.

Sound Transmission Classification
At Fabcon, we recognize that sound transmission is critical in many building projects, such as theaters, where varying volumes of sound need to be contained. We also understand that while some surfaces must reflect sound so that loudness is adequate in all listener areas, others must absorb sound to avoid echoes and sound distortion. This is why we’ve designed our panels with high acoustical standards, utilizing absorptive and reflective surfaces, sound barriers and vibration isolators.
